 Does this mean that we need to either upgrade to V 4.1 ( to use bug free jQuery )
or 
have to stick with V 4.0  and use older jQuery

It should work or it will work? These are two different things. When I reported the Calendar bug, you did not know about that and said you will upgrade to newer jQuery which was not the newest of them
 
Anyway did you tested newer jQuery with DSC 4.1? The calendar bug has removed but the newer jQuery do not work in Admin reports (custom). Have you tested this reports in V 4.1 with newer jQuery. I want to make sure of these before upgrade.

Yes, DSC 4.1 works just fine. It seems that it uses two Calendars.

 If V 4.2 release date in near, then I prefer to wait and upgrade to v V4.2, due to lots of customizations. Please tell me when is the release date.
 
Also what jQuery we can use that is after 1.2 and use the same on field (two click) for date range selection.
