Suggestion of adding a quick-order block where customers can add sku and quantity to make a purchase

Yes, we have just implemented a feature that allows customers to go directly to checkout page. The url will be <your site>/Product/<SKU>.aspx?add=1&checkout=1 . It will be rolled out in the next release.
