There are four site level block containers: top master, bottom master, left and right. These four block containers stick to the site. Currently only the built-in pages have the ability to disable the left or right column per page basis. See below.
The customized page doesn't have the ability. So your options are 1) disable left column site wide and manually create left column in the pages that you want to have 2) wait until the next version that we have this feature extended to the customized pages.
