SQL-Server 2008 Web Edition
 Hi Luke,
 
If we want to host our Store on ASP Hosting, can we use SQL-Server 2008 Web Edition. We currently use in-house SQL-Server 2008 Enterprise.

Yes, the web edition should be fine.

I think GoDaddy is using the cheap regular desktop machines rather than server machines. Our hard disk space is RAID 10 plus daily backup so you never have to worry about losing data. Our network bandwidth is premium tie 1 bandwdith. Our offer is for quality and theirs for low price. Anyway I can give you one month free trial if you are interested.

 What about RAM ( 512 MB vs 2 GB ) and bandwidth ( 100 MB vs 1 GB) .
Also Does your VPS provides SQL Server, so we do not need to install our own.

We preinstall the SQL express edition. Our standard package has 100GB/mo. Although they claim more data you cannot get most of those if you get the slow bandwidth. Same thing applies to RAM. There are other specs e.g. different speeds, server grade memories. If they put too many VPCs to the same machine, your virtual server will be slower no matter how much memory you have. Anywhere if you wish to try ours out and do the comparison with theirs let me knwo.

Yes. You will need to install the advanced service express edition. The only limit for the express edition is maximum 4GB database.
