Re: DotShoppingCart running slowly!

There are a lot of reasons that could cause the performace issue. If hitting your homepage is slow, it usually means that your web server might have memory shortage and swap out your application all the time. Could you please tell me more so that I can further assist you?

1) Are web server and SQL server installed on the same machine?

2) what are the specs of your hosting machine? Memory, CPU etc?

3) Are you using shared server or dedicated server?

It looks like both web server and sql server are using the shared servers which mean they cannot guarantee the hardware resource. If you need a decent performance, you definitely want to consider upgrading to the dedicated server. You might also want to try our paid service which we normally make sure the homepage gets loaded in less than 1 second on the average US broadband connections. The paid editions also have many useful features that are not provided to the open source edition. If you need to do a lot of customizations, then you have to host somewhere else. Godaddy has V<span id="txtConfigList" name="txtConfigList">irtual Dedicated Server which I believe you can configure a window2k3 server for about $30/mo and it has memory 384MB Guaranteed.
